I have successfully installed and used modx on a few sites now but am getting an issue on a recent install.
When I save a template, if it has the <html> tag, I get the following:
---------------------
Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Additionally, a 400 Bad Request error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.0.52 (CentOS) Server at www.gismit.com.au Port 80
--------------------
Remove everything above the <head> tag and below the </body> tag and everything works.
However, QuickEdit doesn’t view correctly in IE if those <html> tags aren’t there.
Any ideas?

As explained in that link, you’ll have to disable mod_security to some extent in order to use MODx on your server. There is no way around it. This is a restriction being enforced by the web server and is beyond the control of MODx.
ok, thanks Jason. Will slog away at it and note back on how this was done if successful.
