I stupidly put in assets/templates in the Resource URL field on the configuration page and now get a 403 Forbidden message if I try to access Manager. Can someone tell me how to (or where to) change the Resource URL without using the Manager?
You should be able to just redo the install and correct it. Select upgrade install. If you deleted the install directory, you’ll have to replace it.
That is probably the best way and choose NOT "install demo page"!!
@BobRay: Would the setting be in table modx_system_settings?
//
I wonder if a MySQL call
something like this could do it:
UPDATE modx_system_settings SET setting_value='/right/path/' WHERE setting_name='filemanager_path' LIMIT 1;
BUT THEN I REALISE HOW HARD IT WOULD BE TO FIND OUT THE RIGHT PATH...
//Maybe this could get you logged in as well -->

Yes, it’s in the sysem_settings table, but actually, it shouldn’t affect your ability to log on to the Manager at all. That’s another reason I suggested a re-install. If that doesn’t work, your guess about mod_security may be correct, although I’ve never heard of that affecting logins.
In addition, 403 Forbidden can also occur when PHP is not installed or not running on the server.
Aha! Thanks for clarifying this!! *Im_a_geek*
Glad you got it sorted. Thanks for reporting back.
