    OK, been a long night but I think I’ve got most of my issues sorted, my site certainly is much faster. I’ve upgraded every snippet to the latest version, deleted the ones that weren’t needed, upgraded to ModX 0.9.6.3, implemented some heavy caching thanks to Yslow in addition to the page caching built in to ModX, ditched webloginPE for weblogin, and everything seems to run much smoother.

    There is one thing that still bothers me, the sessions thing. It seems that the htaccess trick won’t work in my configuration, so I tried to make a plugin that would add the ini_set session save parameter to my pages including the manager before they loaded, but it doesn’t seem to work, no files are in the directory after logging out, closing my browser and restarting.

    I know the ini_set parameter works, I put it in it’s own file called test.php and ran it with a call to session_start() and files do get written there, it just seems my plugin doesn’t work, maybe I chose the wrong system events? Right now it’s set to ’OnWebPageInit’ and ’OnManagerPageInit’ with the following code:

    ini_set('session.save_path', '/mnt/local/home/dpmoore/thecountyedge.net/tmp');

    If you visit the site, you’ll see it’s pretty quick for a site with over 1700 documents, this one issue has me stumped though. Any ideas? I just want to ensure the site isn’t a troublemaker for my host.

    Thanks! You guys have been an immense help so far.

      Have you tried this in a php.ini file in the MODx root directory?

      session.save_path "/home/dpmoore/thecountyedge.net/tmp/"

        I did just now BobRay and it seems as if the server is ignoring it.

        When I echo session_save_path(); it just says /tmp

        When I try it with the plugin I made, it echos the correct path, but nothing get written there.

        Also, one thing I just noticed, I made the mod to weblogin to get the javascript to load in the head via regClientStartupScript, but if the page is cached the script source get put into the page twice causing duplicate output. Is there a fix for that? And isn’t it supposed to prompt if the password is incorrect or username doesn’t exist?

        Sorry for all the questions, I’m just in fix mode. smiley

        Thanks for the help.
