I don’t think it will since it seems to upload via php rather than ftp. When you upload via php the uploaded file is owned by the php user.
Yes, it uses php functions for file handling.. Wouldn’t be too hard to make it work with php ftp functions though.. just need to rewrite the class.fsDriver.php to make use of php ftp functions instead of straight use of mkdir etc. Maybe they have it coming on the pipeline already..

A mode that would be compatible with php FTP transfers would be just plain awesome. Would eliminate the issues with servers running mod_php and where the FTP user and Apache/PHP user are different, thus requiring sudo privs and SSH access to manage files on occassion.
