    I"ve searched all over about this without finding a solution.

    My document tree will not display. This doesn’t work:
    Browser reload of page - no.
    "Expand tree" - no. "Working..." flashes by.
    "Refresh tree" - no. Displays "Loading document tree..." until the end of time or until I reload page via browser.

    I’ve deactivated TinyMCE, MadBoxr installed but not active.
    QuickEdit does not display, as it used to at the beginning.
    Amnesia template site-wide.
    I can edit documents through "Recent documents".
    Everything seems to be working correctly, pages even validate!
    I’ve just spent several days to convert the Amnesia’s menu to a CSS_play menu.

    Any ideas on how to track this down appreciated!

      Do you have any errors being logged to file? In some configurations any PHP errors will be written to the apache error_log, or if you have a php error_log file specified in your php.ini. Check the apache error_log for segfaults as well; this could indicate a problem with the versions of Apache/PHP/MySQL client API that are compiled together.

        Thanks for the quick reply.
        I’m not sure I have access to those error logs. Shared server set up so?

        By the way, here’s the test site:
        http://www.avocetwebdesign.com/mdx/

        I’ve changed manager templates but no difference. Anything else?

        Thanks!

          I’m confused, your specs said OS: WinXP Pro, SP3; you mean your shared host server is running WinXP Pro? I assumed this was a localhost install, not on a server because of that. That now known, it’s most likely a file that got corrupted during FTP transfer to the remote host. I would re-upload the files in the manager directory in that case.

            Ha! No, that was just a slip, thinking of my PC config, not my server.

            I will try uploading manager files although the doc tree display was working fine after initial installation. I think until about the time a started working on the menu.

            I doubt this has anything to do with the problem but, using the Firefox Web Dev addon Tools/Error Console I got these. Any connection?

            Error: Ajax is not defined
            Source File: http://www.avocetwebdesign.com/mdx/manager/index.php?a=1&f=menu
            Line: 20

            Error: Ajax is not defined
            Source File: http://www.avocetwebdesign.com/mdx/manager/index.php?a=1&f=tree
            Line: 226

            If so, this is the code:
            }
            function saveFolderState() {
            var folderState = getFolderState();
            new Ajax(’index.php?a=1&f=nodes&savestateonly=1’+folderState, {method: ’get’}).request();
            }
            No clue how to remedy the error! Actually I’m sure the error is just related to the MODxLight manager template. As I mentioned, the problem occurs with any manager template.

            I installed MODx about a week ago and have been thrilled with it so far after trying out a gazillion CMSs including Drupal, Joomla, CMS Made Simple, even Etomite which came very close (Yes, I know the relation between Etomite and MODx.)

            Thanks again...

              I uploaded the manager files as suggested by OpenGeek and - presto - documents are visible in tree again. Thinking back, it may have had something to do with installation of new version of mootools.js after installing the MadBoxr plugin. I found an almost exact coincidental match with my problem here:
