Any way to return 'parent' document page title (template variable)?

I’d like to utilize a template variable that returns the page title of the parent document within the <title> tag of several documents. One of the built-in TV’s returns the ID of the parent document: http://modxcms.com/document-tvs.html (parent) But I’d rather get the page title.

Is this possible, or will it require a bunch of custom programming?
