    Hello,

I have a question about character encoding. My native language is Lithuanian and it has some unique characters (they are Unicode Latin Extended-A) wich are normaly displayed in documents, page titles and other places, but the problem is they aren’t saved in Chunks, Template variables and templates, but replaced by a question mark. Dont use them in snippets or modules, but i guess they would be stripped also there.

    Modx version 0.9.6.3-RC2,
    PHP - 5.2.6,
    MySQL client version - 5.0.67
In ModX Configuration Character encoding is set to Unicode Utf-8,
    Database collation is "utf8_unicode_ci",
    Table collations are "utf8_bin".

Have I messed something up? Or is this a bug or maybe an intended feature? smiley
I would apreciate any help. Thanks!

P.S. There’s an attached example of a TV. I can get the characters displayed in name and description with &#...; codes, but these don’t even work in TV values.
MODx is great! Thanks for great work!

First, try setting your database collation to utf8_bin to properly match your tables, though beware, this is a case-sensitive encoding.

If that’s not the problem, take a look at http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/browse/MODX-489 which was fixed just after RC2 release. This may be related.
