can't install 0.9.6.3-RC2

I’m trying to install 0.9.6.3-RC2 and the installer is stuck on the database info page.
when I click the "Click here to test your server connection and get the available collations" nothing happens.

firebug says these 2 errors:



trying to install on shared box:
apache 1.3.41(Apache/1.3.41 (Unix) mod_fastcgi/2.4.6 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_ssl/2.8.31 OpenSSL/0.9.7a)

MySQL 5.0.67
PHP Version 4.4.9

any ideas?

I’ll try downgrading toi stable see how it goes. sucks. i love the minor improvements of 0.9.6.3

I always create a table in my database with the prefix e.g. modx_
Dunno if more people then I do this. Don’t think it’s needed and haven’t seen it in the
documentation. Worth a try if you didn’t do.

ok the installer got damaged during ftp somehow. i reupload and manage installing it.

not yet. I did looked into it though
but since each one code his snippet/module/plugin different it make things a bit complicated especially snippets that has also plugins.
chunks seems easy, I’m going to try and do it with the standard contact us/thanks/report chunks I always use for eform and then try snippet by snippet.
but I just started working on a new project so I don’t know when I’ll find a time.it suck we need to sleep sometimes you know.
anyway, as soon as I make any progress I’ll make sure to update that thread after 20+ installs of modx I should have done it long time ago

Since the matrix modx got me the days of sleeping was over. I woke up to realize...

That joomla is a system, which I was slave under. That system was my enemy. But when I was inside, I looked around, what did I see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

When we can add this new weaponry to our ships and have armys of our own installs, then the spammonsters can try hack us as much they want. We just reboot and reload!
