So I got the login snippet working thanks to bunk58!

But I am having some trouble with how my links are being displayed. I have set up 2 kinds of users and permissions... first called "registered users" and the second "super users". The links and pages for both groups should be hidden (what I am going for anyway) unless you are logged in with a name that has permissions to view that document group (normal idea I would think).

For some reason though it seams ( I could be wrong on what page links are showing and why, because they seam to change as I add permissions (I think) ) that whatever is the newest document group get displayed on the front end even though a user is not logged in. Weird behavior with how the links are displayed... sometimes when you are logged into the front end with say the regular permissions you will see the new page link and even be redirected to the new page but when I click back to the home button the new pages disappear?!?!

Thanks in advance, The Lord Jesus Christ show unto you everlasting salvation though faith in His work on the cross. Jesus Christ is Lord and we all will have to stand before Him on the day of judgment. Praise God that He loved us and sent His only begotten Son to pay our penalty for sin if we will believe in Him for our salvation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and forget not all His benefits. Praise The Lord!

    Sincerely, Greg Zimdahl.

My problem was due to the pages be "Cacheable". I disabled this on all my pages. Is this a bad practice? When is it good to use this and when is it bad to use this? I’m guessing it could be a help when people are going to the same page a lot. So when is this feature most handy?

I think your real problem may have been not clearing the site cache (and maybe your browser cache) after making changes. wink

          Site | Clear Cache

What you did may have worked, but you were looking at old versions of the pages. It should be ok to cache the pages as long as they don’t change often.

Thanks that article looks handy, Though I did have the permissions set correctly, The page was just cached and was showing links that should have been hidden. Thanks for your help though.

Bless you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, King of kings and Lord of heaven and Earth!

Okay thanks! I had cleared the cache in the browser but not in the modx back end. I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks a bunch!
