[+introtext+] word limit

Is there any way to limit the amount of text that is shown when using the [+introtext+] placeholder

For example, get it to only show the first 20 words of the intro text, then trailing dots ......

Or possible in some templates limit the input limit of the intro text box.

If not possible, maybe I can create a TV and set a limit to the text input of that TV.

Would love some suggestions.

I think you can trunc text with a PHx modifier if memory serves me right. You might take a peek at the wiki entry for it.
