    Hello MODX Community and Support,

I would like to use this kind of forum-software
    which you use here at
    forums.modx.com -
is your forum based on a MODX-add-on forum-software or on another software product?

    I'd like to get it!

It's called Discuss but it is no longer supported.

georgy, Discuss still works, probably, we have a subdomain at https://forums.modx.com/board/?board=27

its got some old info and you can probably get it running with a little effort. The forum is basically stable, but its very bare-bones and some functionality would be hard to add or change.

Hmm just checked my forum is down, oops gotta look into that

Still doesnt alter the fact that it hasn't been updated for years and if someone is going to start a new forum they would be better doing it with supported software

I wouldn't call the Forum (at least this one, which I believe is a modified version of Discuss) stable. It's fairly common for me to get logged off and to see no replies listed. If I then click on "no unread replies," after a long wait (up to 30 seconds) I usually see some replies I haven't read.

Posting screen shots didn't work for a long time. I don't know if that's been fixed or not. In addition, the forum search doesn't work very well at all.

TBH, I think you might be better off with one of the Forums listed here: https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/best-forum-software#gref. Vanilla is quite popular and you might be able to style it to look like part of your MODX site.

Yeah it's not stable and I believe the plan is actually to migrate away from discuss over the coming months, as it's too much of a mess to maintain. These forums will be archived though for legacy.

@Bob, uploading images now works again smiley

The greatest compliment you can give back to us, is to spend a few seconds leaving a rating at our trustpilot: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/alienbuild.uk about the service we provided. We always drop mention of services offered by businesses we've worked with in the past to those of interest.

I still feel a proper site with historical data is so critical. I feel that will be a real loss.

Many pages going back years here are still useful. Will a new system keep all the data and allow people to search/connect information? I have my doubts

Edit I mean the old one will be archived, but will the new system build a new deep database of knowledge? If its transitory, that simply won't work.

The community could theoretically fill in the gap but it doesn't seem wise to me
