    Hello again,

    So like it says in the subject I’ve declared values for $base_url, $base_path and $Site_url in config.inc since the automatic "identifier" function did not work. The server is using some weird linking that messes up the automation. Before i declared the values i would not have any javascript, css or anything(that required to be loaded) to run properly. Now all that works just fine but the manager is extremely slow. Any ideas to why this could be ? Also i’m getting an message that the cache is not writable, this again is because of the server restrictions, would that be a possible reason for slow manager speeds?   huh

    Thank you

      It would be helpful to have information such as
      * modx version
      * server operating system
      * web server type/version
      * is it a shared web host?
      * are you able to check/set permissions?

        * latest, so 0.9.6.2
        * no idea, seems to be linux
        * again no idea, probably apache?
        * it could be classified as a shared web host yes. (or maybe not a web host but a shared host)..
        * no, but i’m requesting it at the moment.

        Thank you smiley

          Sometimes the manager can be slowed down if certain documents requested by the browser (e.g. css, javascript or image files) return "not found" and modx serves up a default 404 page (which is sometimes the home page) in it’s place.
          You should be able to determine if this is the case if you have Firebug installed in Firefox.

            Thank you for the idea, firebug gives me the following 3 errors:

            * Permission denied to get property XULElement.accessKey
            undefined
            * top.mainMenu.$ is not a function
            var elm = top.mainMenu.$("buildText");
            * top.mainMenu.updateMail is not a function
            top.mainMenu.updateMail(true);

            And it took

            1.01min to load http://website.com/manager/index.php?a=1&f=menu
            1.01min to load http://website.com/manager/index.php?a=2
            59.62s to load http://website.com/manager/index.php?a=1&f=nodes&indent=1&parent=0&expandAll=2

            Any ideas ?
