    No, that's not a type-o. Our site is currently MODx Revolution 2.0.8-pl (traditional). After receiving a notice from Google that we may have been compromised, we started digging and discovered some things that didn't look right. Not long after, our site was down. We were able to restore the site from a backup, although not one prior to 7/18/2018 as recommended.

    So, we're back up. However, we obviously should make some efforts to get up to date. Truth be told, this site is in the process of being re-developed on another platform but this doesn't eliminate the need to protect the current site in the meantime.

    • Does an upgrade path exist for us?
    • Is the UpgradeMODX extras package capable of going back this far?
    • Although we can follow procedures, we are by no means proficient in MODx and have not touched it in years (obviously). Will this be potentially more involved than we should attempt without help?

      There's been a lot of breaking changes since 2.0.8. I'd strongly advise going for a more incremental approach:

      => 2.1.0-pl => 2.2.0-pl => 2.3.0-pl => 2.4.0-pl => 2.5.0-pl => 2.6.0-pl => 2.6.5-pl

      Basically, you're upgrading to the next minor version with each install. This is a bit tedious, but it's the safest bet.

      UpgradeMODX should be able to handle the upgrades for you from 2.3.0-pl, if I'm not mistaken.
