[Solved] Creating a redirecting page.

I’m trying to create a page which will act as a temporary halt showing a warning that the user is leaving the website, we’re not responsible for the content on that page etc etc etc.

Basically what I’m looking to create is a link like this:
www.mydomain.com/out.php?link=www.externaldomain.com/page.htm
or
www.mydomain.com/out.php?linkid=6

Then you’d see the page with the ’You are leaving this website. We are not responsible...’ for a number of seconds and the browser will redirect you then.


Any suggestions how I can get this to work?

I use meta tags: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=[~62~]" />

Call them by template or doc with a TV, change 0 to prefered seconds and url.

Okay, that would work for the redirecting...

But could I use a specific link tag (like out.php?site=www.otherdomain.com) which will transfer it to a TV (or at least reference it) which I could place in that tag?

There are ways of using tvs, placeholders etc. if you want this for many urls. It also can benefit to have
the urls as modx weblink-docs then you can assign them aliases....

And don’t forget $modx->sendRedirect(), which you could use in a snippet or plugin.

Edit: Works perfect!

Put the code above in a snippet named Redirect, placed the tag on the page with the dislaimer and linked to it with www.mydomain.com/out.php?url=http://www.modxcms.com
