How to display list of Gallery albums in a TV?

I'm fairly sure this is possible based on reading tidbits here and there, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do it.
I'd like to make a TV that displays a dropdown of available albums (created through the Gallery extra). How do I do so? (I think I know how to make a TV with a dropdown menu since it's mentioned in the guide I'm following, but how do I populate it with album titles?)

Also, when I use the slimbox plugin with gallery, the images (when you click on them) are humongous - and there is no navigation between the images (no buttons at all and using the arrow keys doesn't work either). Is it a bug or am I just missing something?
