Answered Login problems

    I am brand new to modx, but it looks very exciting (Drupal user foe many years after 'hard' coding web sites).
    I installed newest version ok, then the sample site (somewhat old I would guess). Trying to log in on the actual site (manager works fine) it just bounces back. The error log says:
    [2018-07-26 19:40:35] (ERROR @ /home3/haurdalhus/public_html/core/components/login/model/login/login.class.php : 230) Processor /home3/haurdalhus/public_html/core/model/modx/processors/security/login.php does not exist; Array
    (
    [action] => login
    [location] => security
    [login_context] => web
    [add_contexts] =>
    [rememberme] =>
    )

    What could be the problem?

      I am brand new to modx ... (Drupal user foe ...)

      I think we're all Drupal foes here ... wink

      But seriously, welcome to MODX. smiley

      The Sample Site is from 2011 (back when it was still spelled MODx). I'm surprised that it's still in the repository, but not surprised that it doesn't run.

      You would probably need a fairly old version of the login package to run it.

      I hate to say it, but I think in your situation, I would start over -- empty all the DB tables (leave the DB itself), delete all the files, then download (or unzip) the files and run setup again.

      Actually, MODX Revolution 2.6.5 comes with its own minimal sample site, which should be enough to get you started.

        Yes, that is what I figured. I just saw a mentioning of the sample site in a review, and thought it would help me get started a little faster.

          I made the same mistake long ago. wink

          There are a number of good guides to using MODX around. Here is one: https://docs.modx.com/revolution/2.x/getting-started.

          There is also a lot of stuff at the site in my sig., notably this page: https://bobsguides.com/getting-started.html
