Hi there,
We recently launched a new site. All is well but we are having trouble redirecting some of the old urls that are indexed in the search engines to the new MODx pages.
For example take the page:
http://www.mydomain.com/about/oldpage.html
I have set up a 301 redirect in my .htaccess file to say:
Redirect 301 /oldsection/
http://www.mydomain.com/aboutus.html
When I try to visit
http://www.mydomain.com/oldsection/ I get redirected to:
http://www.mydomain.com/?q=oldsection
Its like MODx tries the lookup, cannot find a matching alias and redirects to the above. Why is this happening, I though the .htaccess would catch this before any of the url rewritting took place?
Thanks in advance,
J
