I'm planning to upgrade my server from PHP5.6 to PHP7 in a couple of days.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of upgrading their MODX 2.2.6 pl site, and how did it fair.

I made this note for myself after experiencing problems with such an upgrade and reading the Github thread: When upgrading from 2.2.x to 2.3 2.4 or 2.5 add "name" row in table "modx_context" as a VARCHAR 255 and try running the setup again.

Remember to back up all your files and the database so you can restore if it all goes wrong.
Upgrade in small steps, so upgrade from 2.2.6 to 2.3 to 2.4 to 2.5 to 2.6 and then to 2.6.4.
You will need to upgrade your Extras as well
Bob Rays UpgradeMODX 1.5.5-pl could be useful for this, although you will need to check compatibility with older version of MODX.
