    Hello,

    This is my first time setting up a CMS but I think I got it down except one thing I keep getting the error message when I open the manager at http://www.orlandokayakfishingclub.com/modx-0.9.6.2/manager/

    This is the error message:

    Warning: fopen(D:/Hosting/3035399/html/modx-0.9.6.2/manager/media/style//login.html) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Hosting\3035399\html\modx-0.9.6.2\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 129

    Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for D:/Hosting/3035399/html/modx-0.9.6.2/manager/media/style//login.html in D:\Hosting\3035399\html\modx-0.9.6.2\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130

    Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in D:\Hosting\3035399\html\modx-0.9.6.2\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130

    Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in D:\Hosting\3035399\html\modx-0.9.6.2\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 131

    Any idea? All the info is right and all the files uploaded to my server.
    Also am using godaddy Deluxe Hosting Windows server if that helps and the only problem I really faced is when it said it could not put the info in manager/include/config_check.inc.php so I had to do it manually, which I did(just coped and pasted the info). So I don’t see why it would not work.

    Thanks for any help,
    FireDart

      Hello,

      Also am using godaddy Deluxe Hosting Windows server if that helps . . .

      The only people who have more trouble installing MODx than people on Go Daddy are people on Go Daddy with Windows accounts (versus Linix). Sorry, I couldn’t resist. wink

      If you type godaddy into the search box at the top of this page you’ll see some of the problems (and some solutions). Hopefully, someone who has successfully installed on Go Daddy will recognize your problem and respond here. If not, the search may give you some ideas.

        This error has been seen before, you are ’losing’ your manager theme. Check that you have the MODxlight style in /manager/media/style, failing that download and unzip a fresh MODx and take the two files from assets/cache, the idx.php ones and overwrite the ones on your failing system with these. If you get in clear the cache and you should be good to go.
          Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

          Well I did what you said and re downloaded the file, then I re uploaded the /manager/media/style but it’s still not working any thing else that it could be?

            OK you could try running the installer on the broken site but in ’upgrade’ mode, not ’install’ mode this should set the correct values in the cache files. Note if you do this don’t’ install the demo site or you will lose whatever content you have in there, if any.

              Well I tried the ’upgrade’ mode and it still does not works. Am also still getting the exact same error:

              Warning: fopen(D:/Hosting/3035399/html/modx-0.9.6.2/manager/media/style//login.html) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Hosting\3035399\html\modx-0.9.6.2\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 129

              Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for D:/Hosting/3035399/html/modx-0.9.6.2/manager/media/style//login.html in D:\Hosting\3035399\html\modx-0.9.6.2\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130

              Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in D:\Hosting\3035399\html\modx-0.9.6.2\manager\includes\accesscontrol.inc.php on line 130

              I Doubt this is the problem but maybe am downloading a corrupt file(modx-0.9.6.2.zip)? Is there a mirror site I can download MODx to see if that is the problem?

                Maybe, I take it you have checked the contents of /media/style. This should contain the following subdirs :- MODxGreen, MODxLight and MODx wiith files in those subdirs of course. Have a look in your /assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php file, it should contain this near the top :-
                $c=&$this->config;
                $c['manager_theme'] = "MODxLight";

                It may also contain other settings, if this is not there, manually edit it in and see if you get further.
                  Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

                  Hi

                  Ive just tried to visit
                  http://www.orlandokayakfishingclub.com/modx-0.9.6.2/index.php
                  and got an error "The service is unavailable", which kind of suggests a problem with the PHP install.

                  Are you able to create a basic page and output phpinfo();

                  <?php
                  phpinfo();
                  ?>

                  To test that PHP is working?

                    OK, i check and all that is in the file  is:

                    <?php

                    ?>

                    So I should put:

                    $c=&$this->config;
                    $c['manager_theme'] = "MODxLight";

                    and it should work? Also all the MODxGreen, MODxLight and MODx themes are there with all the files.

                    Hi

                    Sorry but I have no idea what your talking about, I don’t know any PHP, if you are trying to tell me to login then create a page then no.

                      All you need to do is upload a file called test.php to the modx folder inside the file put the following code it will basically tell you what php version is installed etc.

                      <?php
                      phpinfo();
                      ?>

                      I can have a look at the page results if you wish.

                      Aaron.
