    I've copied a 2.5.1 install to my local machine for development but I'm running into a HTTP 500 error on many pages. I'm unable to pin why this is occurring. This is what I've done to move it.

    Prior to move

    • Logout All Users
    • Downloaded Database
    • Downloaded Files

    On Local Machine

    • Unpack Files
    • Updated config.core.php in root, manager & connectors
    • Updated config.inc.php (core, processors, connectors, manager, base and assets paths)
    • Updated config.inc.php ($http_host to localhost)
    • Updated config.inc.php (db user & password to "root")
    • Updated .htaccess file (commented out RewriteCond for forcing prepend of www to URL)
    • Uploaded Database
    • Manually Deleted contents from core > cache
    • Verified <head> to have <base href="[[!++site_url]]">
    • Refreshed URIs

    I was able to login just fine and the CMS works. But aside from the homepage and one or two child pages, I keep getting a HTTP 500 error.

    Has anyone else ever run into this before? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

      If you're running PHP 7, it tends to throw 500 errors for even simple PHP syntax errors. Sometimes, you'll still get something in the MODX error log. If not, using Chrome or Firefox dev. mode (Ctrl-shift-i) and watching the Network tab as you navigate through the site may give you a clue to where the problem is coming from.
