Sometimes when creating a website I end up with document IDs, template IDs and so forth that aren’t very neat as a starting point for the site.

Eg. my second menu choice might have the ID of over 50 because sometimes shit happens. smiley

My question then. Is there anyway of reindexing the tables in the database so that I get the lowest possible ID for everything, or will this messup the structure?
I know I will have to change the ID of some things in my mm_rules for ManagerManager and also other "hardcoded" things like that.
I really like a site nice and tidy when I hand it over to the customer. (And with this site I have, it will be duplicated atleast 18 times)

    Cheers

        Thanks sinbad.
        I already knew that though...

I just wondered beacause I needed to tidy up a site I’ve created and will duplicate the site 18 times to other similar sites...

Personally, I never delete; I simply unpublish and reuse documents once they are no longer used.

1)open 2 modx browsers. one with your messy site and one for a fresh install.

              2)copy paste ressources (temp,snippet etc..)

              3)rebuild the tree very carefully

4)use a bot to refill the contents..

              and that’s it !

                  LOL
Is the bot going to find places where document ids are tied to stored TV values, or hard-coded into chunks or snippet calls? I guess it’s possible. When it’s finished over there, please send it to me - I’m going to hand it a shovel because we just got a big dump of snow ;-)

I would like to be able to tidy up the IDs used on my site... I only have about 80 pages on one site but the amount of tests I carried out for a signup plugin and what not has me up to doc ID of 300+

It’s not that important but I’m a neat freak aswell! I certainly don’t want to copy and paste 40 snippets, 103 chunks, 23 tvs, 14 templates etc etc etc. If there’s no easy solution, I’ll have to control my OCD with MODx LOL!
