    Hello everyone,

This is my first post and my first time working with ModX. If I do say something silly, please bear with me.

I'm moving a website from one server to another; however, I want to try and get the site to work on my Mac via MAMP before I start transferring (because I know there can be issues with MODX migrations, and I would like to know what I need to change)

So I've managed to get the MODX site to load the homepage without any issues. However, I'm not able to load any of the pages, as I'm receiving this error.

    " Not Found

The requested URL url path was not found on this server. "

I also can't login via /manage root, so I'm presuming something is causing the site to not recognise the site structure.

    Any idea what's going on?

    Thank you in Advance

      Hi,

Welcome to the modx community !
      Two clues :

      1. Have you make sur to do an install of modx over the moved directories, this is mandatory.

      2. have you checked your rewrite rules ?
If you can acces the manager and you home page, there is a good chance that the problem comes from there.

      Hope this helps

Check that you have updated all the paths in config.core.php files in relevant directories. It's often easy to miss one!

First of all, manually delete all files in the core/cache directory, in case it's an issue with the MODX cache.

Check .htaccess for hard-coded values from the previous site. If your site is in a subdirectory on localhost, instead of the MAMP web root, you may have to add that subdirectory to the RewriteBase line in .htaccess. Be sure it ends in a slash.

Running setup should straighten out the paths, but it's a good idea to check all the paths and urls in the config.core.php files (root, manager, connectors, & setup directories) and those in the core/config/config.inc.php file.

If you need to re-install the setup directory, make sure it's from the exact same version of MODX as the site.

Visit the site with your browser in private or incognito mode until it's stable. That will take the browser's cache and cookies out of the equation.

Thanks guys for the information. I've changed the core/config/config.inc.php ... I'm using the same MODX release, and I moved over the .htaccess file.

I'm getting a blank homepage now, but I'm getting access to the /manager login root.

Have you cleared your cache both in the manager and by deleting the core/cache folder?
Might be worth double checking your paths too as it can be easily mistaken. Failing that I'd suggest reinstalling modx over the top to correct the paths issue (backup first).

Guys... Thank you so much for your help. I figured out the problem...
I was given the wrong version of MODX. I managed to get access to the backend and found it was .3 not .1 like they said

So Everything runs perfectly now. A very amateurish mistake on my end.

Thank you, everyone, I've learned a lot!
