Aggravating error - "this.mask.addClass is not a function"

I built a site in Modx 2.5.7 and upgraded it recently to 2.6.1 per the proper guidelines.

I am running into some issues on the backend of the site, but ONLY after I've deployed it to my server (A2 reseller shared hosting).

On my LOCAL machine, I am able to edit template files in the backend (Manager) of Modx. But on the SERVER, I can not, and it's causing some strange errors.

If I try to edit a template, I get this error:

TypeError: this.mask.addClass is not a function
modx.jsgrps-min.js:4:17868

```
Other times I get a
```
TypeError: this.mask.el is undefined
```
For the record, I've deployed dozens of MODX sites, and this problem has NEVER come up. I am not doing anything differently than I ever do, and I even completely removed the code, and re-pushed it up from my local development location.

Does anyone have any insight as to what might be causing this?

Hmm... ok. It seems that there was a <script> tag on the template that was causing an issue (I had added some scripting in the template, JUST for that template. Normally I put my scripts in a chunk, but for this page, I put the script directly in the template above the </body> tag.

Is there any reason why I can't add a script directly inside a template file?
