Answered How to unlock .htcaccess from file manager?

    Hi,

    I have been using bluehost for the past 4 years, but due to their rising costs moved to google cloud. Through Bitnami, I installed modx. I ran a test on this about a year ago and had the same issue, but now am committed to google and have migrated my site.

    After I did the install, I've noticed that the ht.access and .htaccess files are locked (locked icons), so I can't rename ht.access and/or delete the default .htacess file.

    How do I unlock these files?

      I get the locked icon for .htaccess, but I'm still able to edit and save it in the Manager. I think I was also able to copy it, but I might mistaken.

      If you have cPanel access, you should be able to do anything you want there. You might also be able to use FTP to download the file, copy it to another file and upload that as a backup. Then you could edit the original locally and upload it.
