    Hi guys,

i’m looking for a solution to an exisiting solution.

currently we have a client who have a secure document file store - which works fine however they are wanting to now integrate this into their CMS - MODx.

i have looked in the reprository and have found file download snippets but i really need a file manager that has user permissions and a folder stucture that will allow upload and download of files, has anyone come accross anything similar?

it has to be easy to use as they’re not the most tech savvy

    Many thanks

    Paul

For properly secure files (only accessible to a logged in modx webuser) the files would need to be either stored in the database, or outside the webroot, and accessed by php and echo’ed to the browser when needed. I believe Scotty is working on database storage but I’m not sure where’s he’s got to. In the meantime he has a security-by-obscurity solution, FileDownloadPE.

If that’s no good, it wouldn’t be too hard to write a module to manage file uploads to db and put them in categories, and then a snippet to output the files/categories.
