HTTPS question

I've never moved a website from HTTP to HTTPS before.

But, once our certificates are in place in CPanel, is there anything else I need to do other than removing the comments from the rewrite commands here?

1. Check system setting "server type"
2. Make sure every script is served over https
3. Force https connection. Something like: RewriteEngine On
   RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on
   RewriteRule ^/?(.*) https://%{SERVER_NAME}/$1 [R,L]
4. Check if you dont have http redirects

Also, check your templates to make sure the base href is either auto generated or statically set to https. Likely not an issue unless you're moving a really large site with lots of templates that may have been tinkered with over time, which was pretty much my site.

The server_protocol System Setting should be set to https.

The base href tag in the head section of all templates should be called uncached:



After altering those, manually delete all files in the core/cache directory.
