I set up a Listbox TV (Single Select), with "force to selection" NOT set and input Option like
||Alpha==alpha||Beta==beta
But when I enter a different value, save, and reload the resource the value is not saved. It is is a bit more strange though, when I create a new resource and set the value, it is saved. But from then on - never again, if the entered value is not in the list.
For me the option not to force values to the list BUT providing a list (with or without auto completition) is very important.
Is it a bug, or do I miss something here?

I'm not clear on what you're saying. You can't "enter a different value" in a listbox, you can only select existing values. It sounds like you might want a
Combo box. I think that would take a custom TV type in MODX.
