I use to use Modx for a number of projects but unfortunately had to use other systems for one major headache with Modx ..... THE MENU SYSTEM - ie wayfinder.
My basic problem was always that it was so difficult to convert reguler templates to the wayfinder system.
My question is multiple for a semi newbie as such that I haven't used modx for a couple of years and as stated, the biggest hassle then was MENUs.
I am semi confdent in working with HTML5 / CSS3 but have the requirement for a CMS / Framework for new projects. I have always like Modx for the backend design, layout and general structure, BUT found wayfinder a total loss.
Has this side improved at all, as going by the general site it appears that wayfinder hasn't been updated for a number of years (2011), or is there a better alternative now for menu systems.
To me, this was always the Achilles heel of modx, in that it was never easy to convert more complex menus to a usable modx system. IE one that would generate from the page list, and be customisable through CSS.
Can't really see why way finder wouldn't be able to convert complex menus as I've never had an issue personally. But I think pdomenu from the pdotools package is the standard nowadays but it's extremely similar still.

Wayfinder does the Sky mega menu here:

One of the nice things about Wayfinder and PdoMenu are that it's easy to integrate them with third=party JS menu system like Sky.
