That’s the problem, I’m on a shared server. Kind of worrying.

How come nobody has been able to create a fix for this then, as its been a known problem?

That’s a great research project that we’d really appreciate someone taking the time to share with the community. We have our hands full with actually developing the project and don’t have time to investigate mod_security custom rulesets. Would you like to give a little back to the project and take up this effort? smiley

You’d probably want to start any research or inquiries on their mailing lists: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mod-security-users

That’s kind of strange because its such an important part of running a site, to have security to stop hacking etc. And the fact that so many people using this cms, are on shared hosting. I do realise you are very busy, but am surprised that its not part of your remit. Having done a search on your site, I noticed there are a lot of people with this same problem, and they have all been told to turn off mod_security, which in effect on shared servers leaves people open to hacking. Isnt that saying use MODX at your own risk? I also dont see any warnings anywhere to let people know that if they are on servers that use mod_security, they will have this problem.

I would gladly help, but having had MODX installed by a third party, who then disappeared, leaving me to try work out how to keep the site running as is, I’m not a developer or website builder, I wouldnt even know where to start. I’m having enough trouble trying to keep the cms running.

Not all shared hosts run mod_security.
