files to display on page

i was wondering if there is a tool to help me just upload a file (like a pdf) and automatically the file will appear in the page without having to make links to it. my users are messing things up so bad that i need them to just place their file and let modx do the rest.

You can use a file type TV and use a snippet to display the file link and other data like file size (there are a few in the repo that do this but I don’t remember the names off hand).

You might also be able to make use of the @FILE binding... that will display a file’s contents ,similar to an include statement.

You can add this to a template variable and allow the user to select the file to display from a drop-down menu, for example.

The logged-in users upload the new newsletter .pdf files through a form and they automatically show up on the page. If you don’t find a good solution, let me know and I’ll try to recall how I did it.
