I've just recently upgraded a site from 2.2.14 to 2.5.8 and now Gallery is behaving strangely. The frontend looks fine, but the backend has changed and no longer allows me to edit or move images within an album, although I was able to upload new images.
If I right-click or double-click an image thumbnail, it turns grey but no options appear, apart from a floating tooltip that says "0 images selected". See attached screenshot.
There doesn't seem to be an associated error message in the log, so I'm not sure what to try next.

Someone else was having this problem. I have made a suggestion to them regarding php in this thread. I don't know if they have had a chance to follow up on this, so I am not sure if it solved their problem.
