I can't recall the exact steps I had taken now but I'd imagine if that didn't work my next port of call would be to use batcher to select all the resources by parent type that I imported to and to then disable richtext on all selected resources. That would bypass the resource having to save with richtext enabled and stripping out necessary elements and styles. (or of course directly in the db without batcher)

I filed a bug report on it, so hopefully it will be fixed in the next version.
