Subdomain not working

I followed the steps advised by Modx (https://docs.modx.com/revolution/2.x/administering-your-site/contexts/creating-a-subdomain-from-a-folder-using-virtual-hosts).

My sub domain page does not work just routes me to my ISP stating the web-page can't be found.
I don't see any errors on my modx errors logs either. Can anyone provide some insight to this - could it be a problem with my host?

If it's going to a generic error page, it sounds like you have not yet created a DNS entry for the subdomain to point it to your server. How that works depends on your hosting and domain registration, or local server management.

Thanks for the reply Mark! I created a subdomain on my cpanel however its now redirecting from subdomain.main.com to main.com/subdomain. Did I forget to do something in my "hosting and domain registration, or local server management" or would it be an error on my htaccess?
