  • Just in case anyone else has this issue.

I installed MODX 2.5.7 today and when I installed any extras that have "Setup Options" it was reinstalling another package (the previous package that also had "Setup Options").

For example. I installed Formit (all packages latest version) and then I installed MIGX and it would just keep on installing Formit.

Then I happened to see MODX 2.5.8 was just released and I upgraded to it.

    Noticed this in the changelong:

    - Fixed issue with incorrect signature during installing two packages with setup options [#13557]

Still, I had the same issue.

I did find a way around it though.

    Log out of the manager.
    Log back in.
Install the extra I attempted to install again (in this case MIGX).
    It worked.
I then attempted to install SEO Tab which also has "Setup Options".
    It installed MIGX again instead.
I logged out of the manager and logged back in.
Installed SEO Tab again. It worked.
Tried to install a couple of other Extras, such as Google Analytics Dashboard.
Had to logout and log back in to successfully install.

    Fresh install on WAMP:

    • Apache 2.4.9
    • PHP 5.5.12
    • mySQL 5.6.17
    • Just refreshing the page didn't fix it?

This sounds like it could affect extras that install subpackages like Articles. Have you tried any?

        • I just upgraded to 2.5.8, then updated several packages without having the usual problem. Updated FormIt and MIGx - both with options, and no problem. Those were two that would always get hung up before.

Another installation did fine with ContentBlocs and CssSweet, two more previous offenders.

Just to be sure, I created a new MODX installation and installed FormIt and MIGx, no problems. [ed. note: sottwell last edited this post 6 years, 7 months ago.]

          • I'm aware that it's possibly "server specific" or some such, just posted it in case anyone else ran into the issue.

            I installed MODX 2.5.7 first.
            Then downloaded about 40 Extras.
            Then proceeded to install them.
            Ran into this issue.
Cleared Cache (within MODX and manually).
            Reloaded the Manager.
            No difference.
Then I saw 2.5.8 was released via the Update MODX Extra.
            Updated MODX.
But this time could at least logout and log back in again to install the Extras.
Maybe the browser was getting confused with what session it was in or something.
            • Since the solved issue was only JavaScript specific, it should have been a browser caching problem in your installation after the update.

It could have been a leftover cookie. That can cause all kinds of weirdness in the Manager.

                  • It was fixed here (https://github.com/modxcms/revolution/pull/13557) and is included in 2.5.8.

You should try to force reload the following file: manager/assets/modext/workspace/package.containers.js
