    Hello,

I’m trying to set up my first CMS-administered website. I have been looking through various CMS frame works for the last couple of days and MODx looks excellent so far; big thanks for letting me toy around with it!

On to my problem: I am trying to deploy a Swedish web site. My database is set to use Collation utf-8_unicode_ci and the tables follow suit. I have also configured the MODx manager to use swedish UTF-8 to display its pages.

The problem is that data seems to be corrupted somewhere along the line. If I create a new document using the Manager UI, and use any swedish characters (åäö ÅÄÖ) in the Title or Long Title fields I get one of the following:

    • The page displays ok for a visitor, but the Manager UI shows garbled characters for the item in the document listing
    • The document looks OK in the Manager UI, but the page shows where the swedish characters should be.

I’m pretty sure this is a database/MODx disagreement but I’m not sure what to change to make it work both ways. Any insight at all would be very appreciated.

    I am using:
local installation of XAMPP lite, latest version with PHP 5.2.6 etc.
    MODx version 0.9.6.2

There’s a bug in 0.9.6.2 causing this behavior. It is fixed in the 0.9.6.3-RC2 that is available for download from http://modxcms.com/beta.html.
