I want to install modX on my SynologyD216. I setup Webstation and install MariaDB & phpmyadmin and make a new database. During modx installation at the database connection part it goes wrong (i make a mistake)

i run the setup from my mac in the same network
Database type: mysql
Database host: internal ip
Database login: root
Database wachtwoord: mypassword
Database name : modx
error is
Verbinden met mysql server:
Could not connect to the database server. Check the connection properties and try again.
[2017-08-08 20:36:56] (ERROR in xPDOConnection::connect @ /volume1/web/modx/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php : 3116) SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory
Your image schermafbeelding 2017-08-09 om 07.36.34.png is not showing. Image attachments on the forums all seem to result in a 404 at the moment. If this is a picture of your database connection details could you post it somewhere like imgur.com?
In you database connection I think that you should be able to put
or
Database host: localhost:3306
or
Database host: localhost;port=3306
but if not you could try
Database host: 192.168.178.64:3306
or possibly
Database host: 192.168.178.64;port=3306
This assumes your port number is 3306. If you have changed it please amend the above to suit.
If that does not help you could take a look at the suggestions here (although you have probably done this already)

Thanks for your help. I installed MariaDB10 and modX need MariaDB5.
The installation was successful. So this thread is solved.
Only a white manager page. but thats Another problem.
