I am trying to create an item template that has a MIGx TV for color. Ideally the color images would be added to a gallery and automatically have the image name filled in as checkboxes in the TV for the item. Then I could display the thumbnails for only the checked ones for each item.

How can I do this in MODX?

I think, I didn't understand, what you are trying to create.

Sorry, I will try to explain better.

I would add these files to a gallery(use to display the images later).
        blue.jpg
        red.jpg
        green.jpg

Under template variables for the item the user would be presented with checkboxes for
        Blue
        Red
        Green

and if say Red and Green were checked for an item, that items document would display a MIGx gallery of only those 2 colors.

We could have 50 items and 25 colors which is why I would prefer to make it a simple as possible and by adding a swatch to the gallery and then "auto-creating" in the TV, one of our editors could add new colors instead of coding it in.
