Anybody know how to restore the trash can in the document tree? I’ve deleted the docs, but I can’t permanently remove them.

You upgraded to a more recent version I suspect. Did you re-rerun the installer in upgrade mode?

Actually, I moved the site from one server to another recently. I installed a new version of MODx on the new server then just moved the data and DB over. The previous server probably did have an older version.

Do I run the upgrade installer now on the new server?

How do I do this? Do I have to copy the install folder backup to the root folder on the server?

Will this affect anything else? Will I need to reconfigure anything?

Sorry for all the questions, I just don’t want to inadvertently bring down the site for my client.

        Thank you!

If you change versions of MODx software you must run the upgrade. The database changes required to provide you permission to get the trash can back are missing in the old database running on the new software. Yes, just upload the install/ folder and run it. Just back everything up in case something goes wrong, as you always should.

Put the installer folder up there then run it in upgrade mode, making sure you choose to NOT install any add-ons. Remove when done. You need to add the "empty trash" role to the users amongst other things.

              Excellent Guys!  Thank you!

I’ll remember this for next time.  I hadn’t considered this would be an upgrade, but of course it is.  Doh. . .

              Yep, backup is ready.

Edit: Upgrade restored the trash can. Thank you!
