Answered Manager login not possible anymore

I cannot login into the manager anymore though the two user names and passwords I tried to login with are definitively correct. The system tells me that user name and/or password are incorrect.

History:
The hosting provider sold his business to another company which migrated all the clients webspaces to their own server. This changed the root path. A don’t know why but all root paths in the config files are correct and name the new server root path.

I guess that this migration could have something to do with the manager login problem.

I have access to phpMyAdmin and the server files. Though the user email adresses are listed in the database, the system tells me that they’re unknown.

Deleting the cache didn’t solve the problem. If I delete all files in core/cache the website the website is no more accessible.

I don’t know the exact modx version. The last upgrade was 1,5 years ago.

Does anybody have an idea?

Might be worth checking folder permissions are correct also.

Thank you very much for your help. I re-run the setup and it was in fact a problem with the database connection. The new hoster modified the database data and wrote the wrong ones in the core.config.php (probably automatically as I'm sure the client didn't customize the file by himself). Now the manager login works again.
