    Hi All,

I developed a gallery website that relies pretty heavily on caching the page with xfpc to speed it up. Every time someone creates a new resource or makes changes to a resource, it clears the modx cache. It seems as there is no permanent way to disable this. I checked out Bob's RefreshCache extra, but unfortunately it doesn't support Collections. I am pulling in the images from Amazon S3 and caching them using an extra called xfpc, which brings the load time of each page down from 110+ seconds to .06s (yes, those numbers are correct).

Any ideas for either disabling the clear cache on save, or rebuilding the cache with the click of a button?

I appreciate all of your help!

Those numbers really are insane and my only suggestion is that maybe have a rethink about how you're currently handling this gallery as it doesn't sound like the most optimum way.

RefreshCache is a pretty brute force solution anyway.

Does CacheMaster work for you? It will set things up so that only the cache for the resource being saved is cleared, rather than the entire MODX site cache.

          Hi Bob,

I actually did try CacheMaster. This would be a perfect solution for me, however it seems that in in ModX 2.5.7 it is not working. When the uncheckEmptyCache property is set to "Yes", it doesn't seem to do anything. You describe on your website that when the resource is loaded/saved, the refresh cache checkbox should be unchecked via this extra, but this does not happen.

If I can find a solution to get this working, it would be a perfect option for me. I could post some screenshots of what I mean if you would like!

          Thanks Bob!

I'm sorry that didn't work for you. I'll try to find time to test CacheMaster in in 2.5.7.

You did make sure the CacheMaster plugin was enabled, right?

              Hi Bob,

I feel like a complete idiot. I didn't realize there was a checkbox to disable the plugin. All set now, and it seems to be working swimmingly. Thank you for your help!

Don't feel bad. It happens a lot.

I go back and forth on whether make it enabled by default because it makes such significant changes in how the Manager works.
