Well let’s say for example they have a list of 6 items. They could just display the items vertically but they want to fill up some of the horizontal white space on the page. This is where my two column UL class would come into play. They would just select the class and apply it to the UL. Make sense?

I now understand you Matt. Sorry, personally don’t have an answer, but it would be interesting to find out how or if you can target the <ul> only using the styles selector in the visual editor...hmmm

One way that I know would probably work is wrapping the bullets in div and then applying a wrapping class to that div. That’s the easy way out, and one I would rather not take. There has to be a way to target that UL.

This might be of some help to you http://www.bram.us/projects/tinymce-plugins/tinymce-classes-and-ids-plugin-bramus_cssextras/.

I haven’t tried to implement it myself so I don’t know how well it works but it looks quite handy.

Excellent link bob grin. I have just had a quick read and it should accomplish what Matt wants, i.e. target the ul not the li....implementation, that’s another story.... smiley

Actually....Not so sure it will. I’m going to try and install it today, but these limitations are listed regarding this plugin:

              Current Limitations

The only limitations in effect are those when using the nested elements (viz. li::ul) and when having elements nested inside those elements, a few examples:

              * When having an a-element (or a span-element, or a strong-element, or ...) selected, which lives inside an li, you won’t be able to set the class on the ul; the selected node really must be the li (you can see which node is selected in the TinyMCE status bar!)
              * When having classes targeted on the ul (by using li::ul) and also providing classes to apply on the li’s themselves (by using li::self), you’ll only see the first one you’ve declared in the bramus_classeslist string.

Gonna give it a spin anyways. Community support has been great every time I have a MODx question. Thanks!

              Matt
