    Hi all

Ive recently logged into a MODx site I built in 2012. When I make a change to markup within a template and hit "save" the updates are not retained. It's been so long since I worked in the environment I don't know where to start troubleshooting this. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have tried: Site -> Clear Cache

    My MODx environment:

    Revolution 2.2.5-pl (traditional)
    MySQL - 5.6.35
    php - 5.6.30
    Apache - 2.4.25

Try manually deleting all files in the core/cache directory and repairing all tables in the DB in PhpMyAdmin. Some of the 2.2.x versions suffered from cache corruption.

Another possibility is that your host has changed the mod_security rules and one is biting you. If you create a new template that's empty and it saves OK when you edit it, that's likely your problem.

Having a mismatch between the date/time settings in MODX, PHP, and MySQL can also cause this problem.

Your version was released in October of 2012, so it is quite out of date. It's possible that there is code in MODX or in a plugin that doesn't work in PHP 5.6. There have also been a number of critical security fixes since that version.
