Has anyone else experienced problems with minified javscript files? I'm trying to optimize my company's website and minify all our js and css so the site will run faster, but any time I used an official minified jQuery file from any repository (including code.jquery.com) or even if I try minifying it myself, the result is the same... It breaks my site. I also noticed that in Dreamweaver, the code hinting colors stop after a certain point in the *.js file... is this related? (I don't care about the Dreamweaver part of it as I have no intention of customizing the jQuery core anyway...)
Any help or suggestions as to where to go from here are truly appreciated!
Be sure you have the compress_js and compress_css System Settings turned off. If they're on, turn them off and delete all files in the core/cache directory before testing. You'll probably also have to delete your browser cache.
If that doesn't do it, you may have a file that's missing a semi-colon somewhere. That can make the file run fine on its own, but crash when another file is appended to it.
Running JSLint on the files (or on the concatenated files) might tell you something.
