    Hi,

I always upgrade Modx for security, but now after upgrading from 2.5.5 to 2.5.7, there were lots of problems.

Some ages took 5 minutes to load with Migx Calendar.
Some pages didn't load at all.

    I had installed:
    - Migx
    - PDOTools
    - pThumb
    - XFPC
    - ...

It was such an issue, that I had to go back to version 2.5.5, which made the sites run normally again.

This is the first time I had such issues after upgrading.

How is this possible ? And how can I tweak things, so I can safely upgrade ?

    thank you

Several things can cause trouble with updates. Did you try all of these?

Clear browser cache and cookies (or visit with the browser in private or incognito mode).
Make sure the compress_js and compress_css System Settings are both off.
Manually delete all files in the core/cache directory (the UpgradeMODX extra will do this for you).

        Hi Bob,

I did all those things, but still not possible to upgrade.

I'll leave those two sites on 2.5.5, I guess.

Another possibility is a plugin or (less likely) a snippet that's not compatible with the new version.

Is there anything in the MODX error log?

You can look at it directly if you can't see it in the Manager: core/cache/logs/error.log
