    My site went from active a few days ago to now the home page is missing much of it's content and you cannot navigate to any other page. The manager site will not let me view or edit anything and is giving me this error: Could not find action file at: controllers/default/index.php

    How do I fix the error and get the site back up?

      Check your core config paths and ensure they do exist where the configuration is looking for them. [ed. note: lkfranklin last edited this post 9 years, 5 months ago.]

        The greatest compliment you can give back to us, is to spend a few seconds leaving a rating at our trustpilot: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/alienbuild.uk about the service we provided. We always drop mention of services offered by businesses we've worked with in the past to those of interest.

        I would suggest repairing all tables in the DB with PhpMyAdmin and deleting all files in the core/cache directory.

        Also, make sure you have this tag (with the exclamation point) in the head section of all templates:

        <base href="[[!++site_url]]" />

        As LK suggests, it's possible that your host has done something that changed the path to the files (making some of the paths and URLs in core/config/config.inc.php incorrect). In particular, check the connectors section.

        Check the path in the three config.core.php files in the MODX root, manager, and connectors directories.
