Looking at all the tagging options in Modx I cannot say that I fully understand any of them.

    Tagger
    Taxonomies
    Taglister

I’m unsure if I fully understand the concept of tagging so I want to give an explanation of what I am trying to achieve and maybe someone can point me in the direction of which one to use that achieves what I want to do.

I want to place tags (key words) on each web page (resource) and have a search box on every page of the website (front end).

If someone (visitor) types a word into the search box then a webpage will display a list of links to web pages that have that tag; Each listing should include the url link, the page title and maybe page description.

So my question is; Which Tagging (or search) extra could best do what I am trying to achieve?

Tagger I think will be the best bet. I think someone reported some issues with the taxonomies extra not too long ago no idea if it was resolved, user error or something else though.

The greatest compliment you can give back to us, is to spend a few seconds leaving a rating at our trustpilot: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/alienbuild.uk about the service we provided. We always drop mention of services offered by businesses we've worked with in the past to those of interest.

Hi LK, Thanks for the response smiley

I read some great things about Taxonomies but I also did read some issues about Taxomomies on one of the forum posts so it put a question mark in my mind.

I've also read positive and negative comments on Tagger.

My gut feeling was tagger was probably the best option to explore but I wasn't sure if it could actually do what I needed it to do.
