    Hi all

I've just upgraded a MODX instance to 2.5.5 (from 2.2.15) and all seems well in general. It is a multi-context set-up which actually runs a group of websites.

Each website has a Media Source and each 'editor' is Media Source Admin on their respective Source.

I also have some image-based TVs for uploading cover photos etc. and these work fine for the administrator/super user but not for the editors.

    To give some structure to my ACLs;

    • Each user is a member of their own unique group
    • They have a minimum role of Editor (weighted 10)
    • They have a bespoke Access Policy (that includes file upload etc.) based on a stripped back Administrator Policy Template
    • They have Element access to the required Elements
    • They have Media Source Admin rights on their particular Media Source

The TV has the correct Media Source selected for each Context.

The problem I have is that the upload functionality isn't there when they edit a resource. They can see where it should be but the functionality is gone.

The really weird thing is, if I log in as admin and upload an image first, they can edit this and change it no problem. But they can't do this on a fresh resource.

One more things to note, I am using Collections for managing resources (don't know if I have missed something here).

Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

    TIA.

Does the resource group have TV access in the Access Permissions tab? It sounds like everything is setup correctly though so I would assume its an ACL issue.

      Ensure these are checked

      file_create
      file_manager
      file_remove
      file_tree
      file_update
      file_upload
      file_view

I may be missing some that would be specific to this issue but I'm not sure what they would be off hand. I can give you a list of ones I have checked for a similar setup that is working if thats of any help?

Thanks LK. I have just discovered that if I save the resource first (logged in as the user) then I can add the image no problem so I guess this is 'fixed'. I must admit I've had some weird errors since the upgrade and do wonder if switching to PHP7 is now a priority. Thoughts?

Have you flushed permissions and logged out and back in as the user after making changes?

I don't think its a major priority many of my sites are still running on PHP5 just fine to be honest smiley
