    Hi,

I’m looking to learn a Php Framework. Right now I decided to go with CodeIgniter...

...unless the new Modx framework does the same thing better.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thx

I can’t really offer any comparison of the two, sorry.
CodeIgniter may be better documented at this point, but I don’t know what it’s like to build stuff with it.
I do love my xPDO though. xPDO + MODx = enough of a framework for me to keep me thrilled. Plus this community rocks!
I just posted a similar response over here:

MODx is a CMS framework system currently, 097 will be more frameworky and less bulky. CodeIgniter is an MVC based application framework for building anything from a CMS to a blog to a social networking portal site.

If you are looking to implement content managment as your primary goal then MODx can likely do it. If you are hoping to build the next big app MODx is not it. CodeIgniter, PHPonTrax (near dead), Symfony and others may do the trick. My personal preference is for CI as well for building custom apps. For websites its MODx.

        Cheers,
