I've just found the setting, i tried looking in system settings before and couldn't find it but now i've located it! I'm going to try this again now and report back on progress, hopefully this will do it. Cheers Don
I located 'link_tag_scheme' via the search box within system settings and then used the setting of 'full' (instead of the default '-1') and that did it.
Out of curiosity, did you try 'https' for the link_tag_scheme value?
I just converted a site to https and 'https' seems to be working for me. I wonder why it didn't for you. AFAIK, all "full" does is make sure the URL has the protocol and domain in it. It shouldn't affect the protocol.
Of course, link_tag_scheme only affects internal links, so you'd still need something in .htaccess or a plugin to force everyone to come in on https to begin with. Using .htaccess should cause the site_url System Setting to start with https as well.
I was surprised that I couldn't find a definitive answer on converting a MODX site to https.
