Uh, that does not look to be very active.
You think its a bug. Just to want to make sure not to misanderstand the patternlogic.

You can try just changing the pattern to com/pattern (without the dot).

Given what you wrote above, I don't see how that would be possible.
If /kuchen works and the domain ends in .com, it seems that com/kuchen would have to work. The only explanation I can think of is that there's specific code that responds to 'com' when it's in the pattern. If that's the case, om/kuchen might work.
Worst case, you could rename one of the files and use a rewrite rule in .htaccess, or a Weblink, or Symlink to forward the user.
